NASIC Intelligence Analyst
National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) is the national source for air, space, and cyberspace intelligence. This position is within the National Air & Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) (HAF/A2), Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
You must be a US citizen to be eligible for a position at NASIC, and you must be able/willing to obtain/maintain a Top Secret security clearance. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed upon hire.
Responsibilities
This position is located in the Directorate of Personnel, Civilian Personnel Division as an Intelligence Analyst Recruiting Pool position. The incumbent of this position will be responsible for assisting in providing finished intelligence on worldwide operational capability to utilize foreign air and space systems to a variety of intelligence clients, including the acquisition community, national policy makers, and operational commands. The incumbent will be required to learn about many intelligence collection and exploitation methods, be able to troubleshoot and correct problems in those systems, and effectively communicate solutions, results and requirements to other analysts, team leaders and management. This is a developmental position with training and guidance provided for career progression. Incumbent performs the developmental duties and responsibilities in the assigned area of work. All training must be completed and regulatory requirements met prior to promotion. The incumbent of this position works under the guidance of senior analysts, and flight leadership who provide assistance with all duties.
With training and guidance, extracts data from numerous databases to answer internal and external customer requirements; tracks low to medium priority production requirements through the tasking, processing, exploitation and dissemination process.
With training and guidance, integrates simple intelligence information to enhance overall understanding of foreign systems; conducts research on asset capabilities and provides simple collection requests input supporting worldwide operations.
With training and guidance, assembles and prepares low to medium complexity data for processing, analysis and reporting in support of taskings; prepares and electronically disseminates low to medium complexity products for customers worldwide in support of formal DoD intelligence production requirements. Prepares written correspondence and other documentation. Drafts or prepares a variety of documents, responses to routine inquiries, reports, briefings, and other related documents. Uses software such as word processing, spreadsheets, program language, plotting software, etc., to facilitate work.
Participates in special initiatives, studies, and projects. Works with other specialists in planning and conducting special initiatives, studies, and projects. Assists in preparing reports and briefings outlining study findings and recommendations. Contributes to the evaluation of new approaches to improve routine data processing, analysis, and reporting problems. Accomplishes professional development and maintains technical proficiency through professional interaction with technical and professional societies, associations, academia, symposia, contractors, research and development organizations by reading/reviewing technical journals and current literature, and participating in formal training programs. Pursues expanded understanding of USAF and national collection programs relevant to the NASIC mission. Protects classified material. Demonstrates sound security practices for ensuring the safeguarding of classified information. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
