Technical Operations Overview Technical Operations is the maintenance, repair, and overhaul division of United. The department includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.

We are hiring interns for the fall semester where you will work side by side with our engineers, tackling problems and learning about our industry. Internships are paid, and course credit hours may be considered depending on university’s guidelines. Interns are eligible for travel privileges, and some may be eligible for a one-time relocation stipend. Interns are placed throughout our system, depending on the project / discipline. Following are possible locations: Houston, TX Chicago, IL San Francisco, CA We are hiring for the following teams: Fleet Engineering Avionics Structures, Fleet Components Systems, Cabin Systems Interiors, Powerplant & Services, Engineering Services/Line Engineering Powerplant Safety, Training and Aircraft Records, Quality Assurance Safety,Maintenance Programs, Technical Publications

Maintenance Programs Methods and Standards Responsibilities
· Provide aircraft engineering support to line and check aircraft
· Review, evaluate, and determine next steps on manufacturer bulletins, management requests and regulatory requirements on United Airlines Airbus/Boeing aircraft
· Prepare cost analysis on projects
· Investigate and provide decisions for non-conformances resulting from in-service failures or maintenance incidents

Qualifications - External
Must be currently enrolled full-time in an Aeronautical/Aerospace, Mechanical, Material Science, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering degree program
· Must have a minimum of 12 semester hours in core engineering course work
· Individual should be a rising junior (at minimum) when internship begins
· Co-op Internships occur over a 6-month span (January thru August or May – December)
· Summer internships occur end of May – mid August
· If needed, United will provide air transportation to/from internship location during the term of employment for any scheduled meeting
· Work related travel may be required, individuals must be able to travel without any restrictions
· Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship
