SpaceX is developing a low latency, broadband internet system to meet the needs of consumers across the globe. Enabled by a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites, Starlink will provide fast, reliable internet to populations with little or no connectivity, including those in rural communities and places where existing services are too expensive or unreliable.

We are looking for a talented, creative, and driven development/product engineer to own and drive the technical standards & requirements needed in order to sell millions of consumer-facing devices used for communicating with Starlink. In this position you will be the technical expert on international electrical, mechanical and safety standards and will guide product design to meet these requirements. You will wear numerous hats and will get engaged on a broad set of technical fields (mechanical, electrical, RF, etc.) in order to ensure the product is safe, reliable and will serve the needs of our customers. You will serve as the main interface with international standards bodies, notified bodies, and our internal design and production teams.

  • Guide the electro-mechanical product development towards meeting electrical, safety, and radio requirements
  • Determine applicability of international technical standards to Starlink satellite terminals
  • Develop qualification test plans and oversee the third party execution of product requirements testing
  • Coordinate across electrical, mechanical, and antenna disciplines to solve design challenges
  • Obtain FCC, IEC, CSA, etc. production certifications for Starlink products

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or physics

  • 1+ years of experience managing product technical requirements
  • 1+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical product design
  • 1+ years of experience with project management (technical scope, schedule, cost)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly cross-functional role
  • Outstanding project management skills
